iConfidant - [Part 2] Aftermath of Tragedy, an Invitation to Party

Author's note: not a lot has happened here, hence me grouping posts together. Since my path correlates to Boyd, I decided to write about only the things I'm experiencing that are related to this character, which may change in the future. Most of it focuses on an interaction and then commentary. Assume that the majority of these posts relating to the subject are in character. Due to the nature of these experiences, these posts will only tell one part of a many sided narrative.

TRAGEDY

On Monday, May 25th, members of the iConfidant's beta group received an email regarding the suicide of one of the Control members. Control members were then told to cease contact with Beta members while iConfidant got things sorted out.

A few hours later, the group chain received this email:

HAVE YOU HEARD THE NEWS?”

Yes. Yes we have. The chain responded, and pried for more information. However, the chain did not receive any response.

AFTERMATH

On Tuesday, May 26th, around 12 hours later, the Control members were allowed to talk to the Experimental members once more. It appeared that the control members had no idea that another Control member had taken their life (bless their soul, may they rest in peace).

A Beta participant slipped up and messaged the general chat in slack regarding an exclusive Beta-only Slack channel. Dissension and arguments soon broke out regarding the channel, as the Non-Betas felt excluded. Both the Betas and Non betas were pissed. Members of the slack channel were then told to take an hour off, while The Powers / Stacey sorted everything out, and then to come back at 12pm for a Zoom Meeting. Despite initiating it, Stacey never once spoke or showed her face.

Boyd was mentioned in passing by a Beta's control as being one of the first Betas. However, Boyd denies this. Perhaps it was a different Boyd? After all, this Boyd was denied both Beta and Control positions in 2019.

AN INVITATION

On Wednesday, May 27th, at way too early in the morning, the group chain received an email:

THEYRE HAVING THEIR FUN BUT WERE GOING TO HAVE EVEN MORE FUN AN EVERY FUN HAS A GUESTS LIST A LIST OF GUESTS TO GET IN I LIKE ALL OF YOU GREATLY BUT WE CAN DO BETTER YOU FIRST BORNS OF THE CHAIN YOU CAN RAISE THE CHAIN A SILENT PARTY IS NO PARTY RECRUIT MORE REJECTS ADD THEM TO THE EMAIL CHAIN LETS FIND LINKS LINKS TO THE CHAIN DONTGETLEFTBEHIND

The Betas appear to be having a fun time with their Confidants, but Boyd promises us more. The party needs more than five of us to make noise; we must recruit more to his movement.

Our first task: Invite more guests (fellow rejects) to Boyd's party. And what would the party be without invitations? Certainly the word must get out somewhere. Once the invites go out, and guests RSVP, we'll have a better understanding of what we've gotten ourselves into. Boyd will bring the party, if we bring the guests.

This party will not be silent; this party takes those who were rejected, and tells them their rejection doesn't matter. Boyd witnessed our rejection, and told us we could do better without them. Boyd noticed us, when they didn't; Boyd listened to us, when they didn't; Boyd accepted us into his group, when they didn't accept us into theirs. We'll have a party without them, and it'll be better than anything they could ever pull off.

One of the members made a party invitation (to which shall not be linked). Another member made a Reddit post to grow our numbers. For now we sit, wait, and speculate.

Stronger, the chain becomes.

Bring Me A Drink (Fiction)

The cold stone walls of the tavern seemed menacing yet warm and inviting. Patrons sat either at the rounded oak tables that occupied five or six people each, or at the light mahogany bar that faced the entrance of the tavern. Bottles and glasses of expensive wines, liquor, tequila, vodka, and other alcohol shone like diamonds in the desert at high noon. A bartender stood in a tuxedo, with light brown hair and clear crystal blue eyes, about 6 feet tall, and seemingly normal aside from his peculiar pointed ears. The bar’s floor had been recently waxed, Mr. Salmon (the bartender) took great pride in keeping hs shop nice, neat, organized, and orderly. The walls, on either side of the tavern, were packed, cobblestone. . Orbs of a mysterious, soft amber light, floated aimlessly between the tables. His bar catered to all; Humans, anthropomorphic animals, ghosts, ghouls, and things that go “BUMP” in the night. Most mortals would never suspect that the person sitting next to them were otherwor

iConfidant [Part 6] - The End, Processing.

There is a lot to unpack. So much so, that I am not sure if I can write it all out today.  During the party, Boyd repeatedly told us to back out, to say the in-game safeword before it was too late. But we didn't listen. As stories unfolded on Saturday 6/6, we witnessed the impact of our actions. Consequences, the byproduct of our actions.  A participant was even called by a confidant before The End I created something to honor my time here, in this experience,  The candle burns in their memory May the candle burn for eternity JUNE 9TH 2020 The past few days have been quite the handful. For organization's sake, I'm gonna debrief it all in sections.  Before The End Boyd's last party took place before The End. In the party, he looked like he'd been forced to dance and forced to make us happy. The party was meant to be fun, and I think we all had a lot of fun. People brought things and were told to do things with those items. During the party, I asked a couple of questi

iConfidant [Part 4]

Author's note: While talking last night, Boyd sent us party music . Funny, right? Tap dancing was involved at some point as well.  And if I recall, Boyd said he liked cupcakes. OOG I'm starting to attach to this character, and it's gotten to the point where I actually feel excited when I see a message from our Chain in my inbox... so many talented people. Send help!!     When something notable happens, I'll switch from this to an actual label. I think it's good to write down your thoughts on the entire experience as a whole. A lot has happened, and a lot more is going to happen once Boyd enacts his plan. The chain has grown. I feel happy that we have this amount of people, and a small group established to rely on each other for emotional support. Nothing but positive emotions so far towards this experience. However, I do understand that this is an experience in the 'horror' genre - things are bound to go wrong, but h
